A Straightforward Guide to Getting the Look You Want

Cabinet door samples, tape measure, and order form on a modern kitchen counter

Replacing cabinet doors is one of the fastest ways to give your kitchen or bathroom a fresh look without tearing everything out. With Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) doors, you get modern style, dependable durability, and a price that makes sense. This quick guide walks through your options, measuring tips, finishes, and how to order, keeping things simple and clear.

Why Replace Just the Doors

You can create a major visual change while keeping your budget under control. It usually takes less time too, since most kitchens can be updated in just a day. TFL gives you modern, easy to clean surfaces with realistic textures and soft matte finishes.

See current door styles and color options.

What You'll Choose

  1. Door Style — Flat, shaker inspired, slim frame, or ultra minimal. Start by checking out the gallery.
  2. Finish & Texture — Matte solids, woodgrains, or soft touch textures. Always compare samples in good lighting and order real ones here.
  3. Hinge Prep — Tell us if you need 35 mm cup bores and which overlay you want: full, half, or inset. If you plan to reuse your existing hinges, match the same pattern.
  4. Edges & Details — Square, soft radius, or slim micro bevel. Pick what fits the look of your space best.

How to Measure Once, Order Once

  1. Confirm your cabinet type, whether face frame or frameless.
  2. Measure each opening width by height.
  3. Choose your overlay. Common overlays are 1/2", 5/8", or 3/4". Frameless setups often use full overlay.
  4. Calculate your door size. Opening plus overlay per side equals the final door size.
  5. Note hinge side and pairs. Mark left or right and whether each door is single or part of a pair.
  6. Check clearances around appliances and walls. Add fillers or trims if needed. See available options.

Tip: If you're unsure about overlay, take a quick photo of the face frame or cabinet box and send it by text. We'll help you confirm.

TFL vs. Painted Wood: What to Expect

  • Consistency: TFL stays uniform across every door and over time. No chasing touch up paint later.
  • Cleanup: Grease and fingerprints wipe off easily. See care guide.
  • Stability: No seasonal expansion lines showing through the finish.
  • Value: You spend on the look you see, not on demolition you don't need.

Popular Door Looks Right Now

  • Matte white slab doors paired with light oak accents for a Scandinavian look.
  • Warm walnut woodgrain with slim frame lines for mid century kitchens.
  • Graphite or black doors on islands with lighter uppers above.

Hardware & Soft Close

If you don't already have soft close hinges, now is a good time to add them. We can bore for concealed hinges to your specs and supply matching plates. Ask about handle hole drilling if you want the doors ready to mount.
